The farm, with organic production, covers about 70 hectares, 30 of which are arable land, 20 of forest and 20 of pasture. The arable land is divided into alfalfa and barley, which are needed to feed the farm’s livestock.
The high pasture (1,000 meters) in the Monte Montiego area is a natural pasture with grasses typical of the Umbro Marchigiano Apennine mountains, which is essential for the summer grazing of livestock.
The herd consists of Marches breed cattle, registered in the herd book, and red spotted cattle, for a combined total of 50 head.
The cattle for the six winter months remain in the barn fed with the farm’s fodder, and the remaining six months are taken to the pastures on the property.
